SINCE the advent of the scarf and cravat, every possible avenue has been exploited for ideas. Knitters simply will not be left in the cold and every jumper and cardigan now has its accompanying scarf. Most attractive of all are the new 2-ply and 3-ply wool scarves, made in an openwork pattern, ideal for golf, or wear with a suit or a coat. They are worn tied in a bow at the throat and are warm and cosy.

The scarf, for which directions are published, is made in stripes of orange, black, red, and brown, and a skein of each color will be needed.

Directions as given are for 3-ply yarn. Directions to make the scarf with 2-ply yarn are given at the end of the article.
