This pattern started evolving after I planned to just make something different for sock swap I was attending. Then it turned into a pattern testing, now it is full and finished pattern with 3 sizes and all have 3 different instep versions! :)
A Line In Time got it’s name from name contest and winner name was given by Carol Roy.

All sizes have been test knitted with excellent help of
Barb Strong Rice Barbandmom
Britt-Marie Hedman-Danielsson BimHD
Ellene L McCoury rikkizmom
Laurie Walker Petrano mustanglaurie
Rosalyn Millar RosalynMillar
Sheri Lanik SheriLanik

Pattern is made for fingering weight yarn and knitted with 2mm double point needles. Leg pattern includes 1/1 cables and little lace when cable is leaning to right (left when looking upside down). Ribbing has 1/2 cable. Cables in this pattern is easiest to do if you know how to knit cables without cable needle. Pattern has few tutorial video links if the method is not familiar. Also some step by step pictures added if those might help.
There is only charts for patterns, no written version.

There are three sizes:
36/37 S
38/39 M
40/41 L
And all these sizes have 3 different instep versions (can be seen in the pictures) because not all like lace on their socks or on instep.

Heel used is French heel where heel flap has it’s own cable pattern matching with leg.

Sizes can be adjusted, for example you have wide calf and need to use more stitches at start. Start with size L, then if needed you can decrease stitches between cables just before heel flap. In gusset decrease enough so foot will fit (in size L there is 21 sts on needle but foot is size S so keep instep needles to have 21 on each, just decrease sole sts to 16 per needle if you don’t decrease before heel flap so heel won’t be too big).

If you have any questions about this pattern please don’t hesitate to ask! Some things might be obvious to others so there is no stupid questions if you don’t understand something.

Hope you enjoy this pattern as I enjoyed designing it :)
