The sweater is an elegant, flattering A-line shape, with a moss (seed) stitch edging at hem, neck and sleeve ends. There is a moss stitch detail at the sides of the body next to the decreases and at the raglan sleeve seam. It is easy to knit for a beginner who has experience of knitting in the round yet interesting enough to satisfy the more experienced knitter.

Any weight yarn may be used, although it is designed for DK, worsted or Aran weights with a 5mm or 5.5mm needle. If a thinner yarn is used, a different (larger) size will almost certainly be necessary to compensate for any change in gauge. Different yarns may well require a different total. yardage. The yardage given is an average requirement. Do please make sure you have sufficient yarn before beginning.

The body is knit in one piece in the round (all rows knit), from the bottom up, as far as the armholes, when it is divided into two pieces, front and back, each piece worked back and forth in stocking st. The sleeves are also worked in the round until the armholes, when they too are worked back and forth in st st. There is, therefore, only minimal sewing up to do at the raglans, made easy by the guiding ‘bumps’ in the moss (seed) stitch edges.

To fit size: Women’s Small Bust 32-38” (80-90 cms)
Medium Bust 36-40” (90-100 cms)
Large Bust 39-42” (100-115cms)

The sweater is designed to be loose, with 2” of positive ease at the bust for the largest size of each size category. Select the size that is the closest fit to your liking. If you prefer form-fitted choose the size range that includes your measurements; if you prefer a lot of ease knit the next size larger. Bust measurement is key.
