Materials:
• One 3.25mm (US size 3) circular needle, 40cm (16”) in length, or size needed to meet the required gauge.
• One 2.75mm (US size 2) circular needle, 40cm (16”) in length, or a 40cm circular needle one US size smaller than needle size used to obtain gauge.
• One 3.25mm (US size 3) circular needle, 80cm (32”) or 100cm (40”) in length, for magic loop or one set of 3.25mm (US size 3) DPNs, or size needed to meet the required gauge.
• Stitch markers, optional, one of which is used to mark the beginning of round.
• Tapestry needle for sewing in threads.
• Blocking materials.
• Fingering weight yarn in two colours, approximately 200m (218yrds) of the Main Colour (dark) and approximately 50m (55yrds) of the Contrast Colour (light). Sample shown in Miss La Motte Singles, in colourway Loam (MC), and remnants of a single ply yarn in green (CC).
Miss La Motte Singles - single ply, 100% merino wool, each 100g skein being approximately 360m (393yrds) in length.

Size:
One size, approximately 51cm (20”) in circumference, measured at the widest part of the hat. The hat measures approximately 24cm (9.5”) from the crown to cast on edge.

Gauge:
28 stitches and 36 rows, is 10cm (4in) in stranded knitting, knitted in the round, and blocked. Knitting to gauge is important to ensure that your knitted item is the correct size, and to ensure that yardage requirements are similar to those stated in the pattern.
