A Little Bit Bowie
A Little Bit Bowie has an unusual shape, a shape that is reminiscent of the face paint that adorned Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust phase. Bowie was an innovative and unique musician and it is only fitting that any shawl that pays homage to him captures some of that character.
The stripes and lightning bolt shape of this shawl make it an interesting garment to both wear and knit. Knit all in garter stitch, A Little Bit Bowie uses a de-constructed asymmetrical shawl construction; achieving its unique shape through simple alternating increases and decreases.
Construction:
A Little Bit Bowie uses a de-constructed asymmetrical shawl construction and is worked end to end. It begins with a small number of stitches. Alternating increases and decreases are used to create the shape of the shawl as it expands in width.
