Meet A Little Gaul, the smart and invincible blond-haired hero!
He is one of those characters who teaches us that the real super heroes do not necessarily have to be super strong and muscular. In the little Gaul’s case shorter means smarter!

I enjoy every single step of creating this ancient little fellow: from planning, drawings, shaping his cute face to crocheting a tiny bottle with a Magic Potion, an ornamental sword and winged helmet…

In the pattern I offer you two versions of the hero only with the small variations. You can choose between the Gaul in black shirt who has got entirely embroidered eyes as well as eyes indentation and the Gaul in white shirt where I used safety eyes combined with a touch of embroidery.

I also crocheted Gaul in black using stitches in shape of X. On the other hand I used stitches in shape V for the Gaul in white. You will notice that he is a little bit smaller than the X shaped version of the Gaul in black. The main reason for this is that my hands get used to crocheting V shape stitches and I have a lot more control over the yarn and the tension.

The toy size is approx. 14-15 cm (5,5-6 inches) when made with indicated yarn and hook.

MATERIALS:

• 2mm and 3mm crochet hooks
• 100% cotton yarn suitable for 3 mm hook in: white 10gr, beige 25gr, light gray 5 gr, bright yellow 12gr, red 3gr, bright green 2gr, brown 3gr, a small amount of: light brown, black and bright blue.
• Embroidery threads for the eyes in black, white and green (optional)
• 8 mm safety eyes (optional)
• Stuffing
• Glue (optional)
• Sewing or tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Crochet pins and markers
