CONSTRUCTION
The cardigan is worked top-down, starting from the back piece. Shoulder shaping is created first using short rows, then the back is worked down to the underarm. Stitches are picked up from the shoulders to work the front pieces.
The right and left front pieces are joined at the neckline, then connected to the back at the underarm to continue working the body. Stitches are picked up around the armholes to knit the sleeves in the round, and stitches are picked up along the front edges to create the button band. Finally, stitches are picked up along the neckline to knit the neckband.
