Method ~
The beanie is knitted from the bottom up using two colours and the mosaic knitting method.

The pattern is written for newborn, 0-6 months, 6-12 months, toddler and child.

0–6 M: MC ~ 29m/32 yds CC ~ 15m/16 yds I MC ~ 37m/41 yds CC ~ 15m/16 yds
6–12 M: MC ~ 31m/34 yds CC ~ 16m/18 yds I MC ~ 41m/45 yds~ CC ~ 16m/18 yds
Toddler: MC ~ 40/44 yds CC ~ 18m/20 yds I MC ~ 48m/52 yds CC ~ 23m/24 yds

You can substitute any yarn providing you meet the gauge and achieve a suitable fabric.*

Needles and Notions ~
Yarn in chosen weight
40cm/16” circular needles and DPNs in sizes given for each yarn weight;
Light Super Chunky: 6.5 mm/US 10.5/8 mm/US 11
Super Chunky: 8 mm/US 11/9 mm/US 13
Stitch marker
Darning needle
Scissors
Pom–pom and tag as desired

Gauge ~
Gauge is given in pattern and knitted in the round using the recommended needle size for each yarn weight. Measurements should be taken unstretched and unblocked.
Light Super Chunky ~ 14 sts and 18 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 7
Super Chunky ~ 10 sts and 16 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 6

Techniques ~
Long tail cast on (or preferred method)
Knit through back loop
Knit
Purl
Slip stitch
Leaf stitch (instructions given)
Increasing and decreasing
Closing top
Weaving in ends
