A Moment with Muriel is a rectangular prayer shawl with a twist on the traditional knit 3, purl 3 pattern. It is named for Muriel, my mom, a prolific knitter who has created hundreds of shawls, brightening the lives of many.

Yarn - 800 yards of a Bulky yarn, preferably easy care.
6 skeins of Plymouth Encore Bulky.
Worsted weight yarn can be held double.
Needles - US Size 10.5
Optional - two stitch markers

Pattern can be made wider by adding stitches in increments of 6.

Optional: Add a stitch marker after first 4 and before last 4 stitches to delineate garter stitch border
