After a provisional crochet cast on, the lining is knit for the brim in stocking stitch followed by the outer layer of the brim which is a corrugated rib, this is folded in half and the stitches from the provisional cast on are knit together with the stitches at the top of the brim to give double thickness and a neat edge before continuing with the colourwork on the main body of the hat.

Pattern includes written instructions for the brim of the hat and a chart for the colourwork section.
