A New Beginning
This pair of mittens are knitted from the wrist up. The pattern is written out for the wrist only, and the rest of the mittens are charted.
I used two different colors of Kelbourne Woolens “Andorra” yarn: about 134 yards/36 grams in Snow White and 52 yards/14 grams in Haint Blue. If you wish to use different yarns, I suggest using ones that will give you the same gauge (obviously) and with a little bit of fluff/halo fiber to soften up the appearance of these mittens. Andorra is blended with 20% Mohair, which is the fiber that gives the mittens that halo-ey look.
As for needles, I casted on with DPNs, and was able to later switch to 9” circulars when I got to the “body” part of the mittens. So if you are not a fan of using double pointed needles, you should be able to knit the bulk of these mittens in circulars!
I wanted to celebrate 2021 with the knitting community so this pattern is my new year present to you, free of charge. Happy knitting!
