A New Twist
These look like cables but they are not. The front and back are each knitted in halves. Each quarter of the blouse is a different color This makes it easy to see
what is going on but the cables are actually more cable-like in a single color. Because only one quarter of the top is knitted at a time. the usual size
limitations are lifted and sizes up to 59” bust are given.
SIZES:
14 sizes from 32-59” bust. All sizes finish to 24” long and have a neckline depth of 6.6”.
YARN, GAUGE AND MACHINE:
Lion Brand Cotton-Ease in 4 colors. Cotton-Ease is 50% cotton/50% acrylic which gives it just enough stretchiness to accomplish this project. 13.5 oz. skein ofeach color is enough for sizes upto 42.6 bust. Larger sizes wi require 2 skeins of each. Stockinette gauge is 4 stitches and 6 rows at about stitch size 7 on any bulky machine after washing and drying. Some mid-gauge machines can match the gauge. It is essential that the knitting not be tight in order to work the stitches through the eyelets that make the cable-look detail. If you substitute yarn, avoid 100% cotton because it is unlikely to have sufficient stretchiness to allow this procedure.
