A Perfect Persimmon
Take a couple of hours and knit up an enticingly festive persimmon fruit. This is a beginner-friendly project that makes for an excellent addition to a little one’s play food collection, a beautiful tree ornament, or a fun novelty gift. Can be knitted flat or in the round. Measures roughly 2.5”- 3” high.
Knit in two pieces, this project requires Aran or Bulky weight yarn in a shade of orange for fruit, as well as a small amount of Sport of DK weight yarn in a shade of green for the leaves. You will also need US7/4.5mm and US6/4.0mm knitting needles, or a set of needles sized appropriately to your yarn selection.
Your skillset should include basic knitting in stockinette, as well as basic increases and decreases and rudimentary sewing (straight stitch, mattress stitch).
