A long shallow crescent shawl worked sideways, ie from tip to tip, featuring the star stitch. Designed for the Obsession Yarns 2024 advent collection and can be made with 12 miniskeins (80 metres/20 grams each) of 4ply yarn of various colours in any fibre composition.

Suitable for adventurous or advanced beginners and any crocheter looking for a simple project with an interesting and super pretty stitch. The crescent shape makes for a pleasing smooth curve decreasing to narrow tips on each end.

The written pdf pattern includes single crochet, single crochet 2 together, half double crochet, standing double crochet, foundation half double crochet, and two kinds of star stitches. You only need to know how to do single crochet and half double crochet. The pattern includes instructions for all other stitches, and a video tutorial linked for foundation half double crochet. A few pictures are provided for reference at the end of the pdf. This is not a photo tutorial.

US crochet terminology with Australian spelling and measurements.

Work to your own gauge but keep star stitches relatively loose.
