These stranded colourwork socks are knit toe-up, with a traditional flap and gusset, with a striped toe and corrugated ribbing.

Sizes - measured around midfoot

  • Small - 7” (17.75cm)
  • Medium - 8” (20.25cm)
  • Large - 9” (22.75cm)

In terms of the amount of yarn you need, for all sizes I would suggest 100g of main colour; for the contrast you should be fine with just 50g.

I used a solid Regia 4 ply sock yarn for the main colour, and a semi-solid from the fabulous indie dyers Life in the Long Grass (LITLG) for the contrast - its subtle variation, combined with a well contrasting solid, meant that the pattern still shows well. I would recommend staying with a solid for the main colour, but feel free to play around with your choice for the contrast.

The instructions for the construction of the socks are all written, the colourwork pattern is only charted.

I’d love it if you’d come to my group to show off your lovely socks, or chat about them while you’re making them. You’d be very welcome!
