A sideways knitted shawl
The shawl is a simple sideways knitted shawl with a simple lace pattern along one edge. The shawl is knitted in garter stitch.
Please be aware that this is a chart of the lace edge with the main body made with the stitch increases shown on the right side of the lace pattern ( + 51 stitches). For a wider shawl, increase more frequently and match decreases.
Decreases are also shown on the right side of the pattern.
A sentence is missing in the pattern:
CO 2 stitches, knit the segment called cast-on.
Note: fixed in the new pattern revision.
A chunkier yarn can be used.
The shawl is aproximately 2 meters long as charted. And aproximately 45 cm wide in the middle.
The pattern repeat is 12 rows. It’s easy to lenghten or shorten the shawl as needed/wanted. As it is, it’s long enough and stretchy enough to be used as a wrap around shawl tied at the back.
No blocking is needed, though a slight steaming of the lace is recommended.
Decrease loosely.
How to knit the double YOs :
Cast on 2 YOs where indicated. On the next row you “k1,p1” in the double YOs.
