a Sip of Bubbly shawlette
Written for Be Sweet’s Bubble Ball yarn, this pattern knits up quickly to make a delightful, bubbly lace shawl with fun felt bobbles tossed in at the edge. This little shawlette makes a great accent piece to your outfit and adds just a touch of warmth on a cool day. This lacy triangle shawlette is a modern take on the traditional feather and fan motif, and is worked from the center back outward.
The shawl has a delicate rippling texture that can be enhanced by holding the Bubble Ball together with a strand of variegated or semi-solid sock or fingering-weight yarn, making a slightly heavier finished shawlette. Some suggestions are madelinetosh tosh sock, Koigu KPPP, Shibui Staccato sock, or Malabrigo sock.
You can also use your own laceweight yarn and collection of beads, charms, balls, buttons or baubles. Just pre-string 25 large beads onto your yarn before casting on, and follow along!
This pattern is charted, with tips on how best to keep your yarn and bobbles tidy (avoiding a big tangle!) and how to work the bobbles to avoid them drooping.
