A Star Snowflake is a knitted hanging ornament to decorate your home for winter. It can also be a coaster or a doily.

Materials: the sample was knit with size 10 crochet cotton and size US 00 (1.75mm) dpns. Other yarns and needles can be used.
Getting an exact gauge is not critical.

Size: the sample snowflake is about 6.5 inches point to point. The actual size will depend on yarn and needles chosen. The instructions also include notes on how to make smaller/larger snowflakes, as well as variations.

Difficulty: the project is not very difficult but requires concentration.

Techniques: knitting-in-the round, multiple yarn overs, kfb, k2tog, binding off and cable cast-on.

Note: Originally the instructions said to use a cable cast on (CCO) method to cast on stitches to create points of the star, I changed that now to knitted cast on (KCO) because that is the method I actually used but was not aware of the difference. You can still use cable cast on method if you prefer. The V2 pdf is the updated version of the pattern.
