A-Tisket, A-Tasket
This pattern is a cute diagonal basketweave design in overlay mosaic style. It’s perfect for an Easter basket design, or just a simple geometric design for any home decor afghan or baby blanket.
This pattern includes five charts with different variations of the basketweave, with small and slightly larger weave, including hearts and also an Easter egg option. It includes instructions for calculating any project size you would like, and specific instructions for the throw pillow sizes pictured in the pattern. I hope to make a full afghan size soon. I hope you enjoy creating with it!
This pattern is done in overlay mosaic style. If you are new to mosaic crochet, there are many wonderful tutorials on YouTube that can help you familiarize yourself with the technique. Any confident advanced beginner to intermediate crochet enthusiast can pick this up quickly! The basic stitches required are chain, slip stitches, single and double crochets.
This pattern can be used for any size or project you’d like, but it does include instructions for the approximately 18” square throw pillows as pictured. Of course, these charts/patterns are easily adjusted to any width if you choose to add repeats.
The pattern is a downloadable PDF file containing several pages of detailed written instructions, pictures, and charts that outline the process, as well as some links to tutorials that are very helpful to learn the overlay mosaic technique.
Less than 600 yards of worsted weight yarn (less than 300 yards of each color) were used for the throw pillow front project. If you choose to crochet a pillow back, you can adjust yarn amount needed to finish the pillow. Other yard estimations are given in the pattern for larger projects such as a throw-size afghan.
