This poncho, which starts at the neck and works in the round to the fan edging, is a loving tribute to my life-long knitting mentor, Elizabeth Zimmermann.

The design is a lacy knit separated by cables (where the increases are hidden). A perfect five-sided circle that ends with a solid hem of fan stitch and garter rounds.

Directions are written and charted for this one-size only poncho that takes about 420 yards of fingering-weight yarn (sample shown is Schaefer Ann in “Elizbeth Zimmermann” colorway).
