The bag begins with a long octagonal garter stitch base which is knitted flat, and then continues in the round with an easy-to-remember hexagonal lace pattern. The strap is knit flat in garter stitch and grafted to finish.

Finished Size: Unstretched bag dimensions are 14 inches / 36cm wide, 8.5 inches / 22cm deep, and 11 inches / 28cm tall.

The strap is 20.5 inches / 52cm long. The strap length and height of the bag can vary considerably depending on the contents of the bag. With a working load of 2.2 pounds / 1 kg, it can easily be worn as a cross-body bag.

Yarn:
Orange version: Infinite Twist Market Surprise, poly/cotton blend, 400 yards, orange.
Purple version: Infinite Twist Market Cotton, cotton blend, 400 yards, white / plum.

Needles:
U.S. size 8 / 5 mm circular, 80cm long, or any size yielding gauge

Gauge: Gauge is flexible, but samples were knit at the following gauges:
Garter: 15 st and 15 ridges/30 rows = 4 inches / 10cm
Stockinette: 15 st and 20 rows = 4 inches / 10cm
