A Wandering Canadian
Stay warm and cheer for Canada with this shawl! Red and white stripes give way to a border featuring an Estonian maple leaf motif.
The shawl is worked from the top down. The stripes are worked in garter stitch, while the lace section is worked in stockinette. Estonian nupps (bobbles) add some texture to the lace, but never fear, there aren’t many of them!
You will need approximately 220 m / 240 yards in the Main Colour and 375 m / 410 yards in the Contrast Colour.
The pattern has been test-knitted. It assumes that you can cast on provisionally and read charts. A link is provided for working the nupps. A photo tutorial is included with instructions on how to attach the edging.
The shawl’s name comes from the song Un Canadien Errant.
