Abaculus
This large and cozy wrap combines eye-catching mosaic bands with colour blocks and a beautiful lace border.
Worked sideways from side to side makes this shawl fun to knit and easy to wear.
The pattern is easily adjustable if you wish to use a set with fewer/more contrast colours, a different yardage and/or you prefer to make a shorter/longer shawl. Please keep in mind that these changes will affect the yardage requirements! The only parts that have a fixed number of rows are the mosaic bands. These took each approx. 8-9 g of CC yarn and 10 g of MC yarn for the width you see on my original sample version. The ribbing, the garter parts and the lace can easily be adjusted to your liking or to the amount of yarn you have available, so this would also make a great stash buster.
Mosaic knitting is an easy colourwork technique that uses
slipped sts and only one colour at a time, but creates fascinating results.
Fully written row-by-row as well as charted instructions are provided so you can choose which you prefer to work from.
I hope you enjoy the pattern!
