This jolly tank top knits up quickly in dreamy soft 4 ply yarn.
With a break from the expected, the Front is worked in easy fairsle motifs while the Back uses punchy stripes which match the front patterns perfectly at the side seams, resulting in a considered modern take on a timeless classic.

Worked flat in two pieces which are then joined at the shoulder in a 3 needle bind-off, the single rib neckband is worked in the round for seamless elegance, while the armbands are worked in rows with clever side seam decreases to avoid excess fabric under the arms.
Another cute detail is the double rib at the back hem; this is more elastic than the single rib of the front, so it will sit nicely on the hips, leaving the front hem to drape nicely over a base layer shirt.

Using just 4 (5: 5: 5: 6: 6) x 50 gm of main shade and a mini skein of each contrast shade, this is an engaging project which is hard to put down once you’ve started!
