Abby top kids
this is the kids version of the Abby top
The Abby top is a crochet top inspired by the lace accents so frequently worn in summer. Garden parties and warm summer days mean a need for light, breathable clothing. Designed with a beginner friendly and easy to remember stitch pattern, that results in a top without holes for the body with a slight “A” shape to fit different body shapes and sizes. This pattern is worked top down in the round and then the straps are attached by crocheting them to the top. A lace detail is added to the hem to finish the look.
Pattern notes
• All terminology is US crochet.
• The top has a slight A shape.
• If in between sizes and like a tighter fitting top, I recommend sizing down. If more ease is desired, then I recommend you size up.
• This is a slightly “A” shaped top with 1-2” of positive ease. Use the table at the beginning to see the measurements of the body and what the finished size would measure.
• Work in spiral - no need to ch1 at the beginning of the row. it is important to place a stitch marker to indicate the beginning and the middle of the row (the sides of the top) in order to place the increases correctly
• It is recommended to leave the stitch markers at the beginning of the row and at the half circle while using a third stitch marker to move every round at the BOR.
• There are some modifications that you can choose for this pattern such as length, and shape options:
- Crop top or regular length
- Sleeve length • The top can be customized further by adjusting the strap position with the shorter sleeves by doing less rows. • Follow your size that is colour coded to make it easier on you. o Legend: 18 months Strawberry, 2 Maraschino, 4 Tangerine, 6 lemon, 8 clover, 10 Midnight, 12 Grape
