ABC Blanket
ABC BLANKET In super-soft microfiber yarn for a beloved baby! YARN: 2 cones of Microtamm yarn in 2 colors. Main color for body of blanket and binding, background and contrast color for binding. For the sample, I used odds and ends of cones so the abc motif changes color as it goes around the blanket. MACHINE: Standard gauge, mid-gauge or bulky SIZE: Finished blanket about 34” square GAUGE: 6.25 stitches and 8.75 rows per inch at stitch size 9 on standard gauge machines. Mid-gauge and bulky machines my also make this project but the blanket must knit 2 panels to create the main portion of the blanket and seam them. Both mid-gauge and bulky machines can knit Microtamm yarn. An alternative would be to use a #3 yarn which may be preferable on bulkies. At 5 stitches/7rows/“, following the main instructions and still making 2 panels, the finished blanket would be about 42” wide.
An original punchard design is included for the blanket trim.
