----- ABC Blocks ----- The entire pattern package includes all 26 letters of the alphabet and the Granny Diamond Squares for the corners. There is also a link to a TIGHT JOIN tutorial. (This is for those who would like to join their squares with a TIGHT JOIN. Squares can of course be joined in any manner that you would like.) Also, included are instructions for the modified version of my RIck Rack Border that was used to border the entire blanket.

----- Nana’s “ABC” Blocks -----
The individual alphabet letters worked in FILET CROCHET.

These fun, fast and easy squares are great stash busters. These squares are worked back and forth in ROWS and then a cute little BORDER is worked around each square. :)

  • Written in US terms.

  • Yarn used: Lion Brand Cotton Ease in various colorways. (Unfortunately, this yarn has been discontinued.) The Aqua colored squares are done with Lion Brand ReUp yarn.

  • Any 4 weight cotton blend yarn can be used. A few examples that can be used are Premier Home Cotton or Caron Cotton Cakes.

  • Hook size: I.

  • (Please note, any weight and blend of yarn can be used, along with a suitably sized hook. Square size will of course be determined by yarn weight/hook size/ tension.)

  • When using Lion Brand Cotton Ease and a size I hook, squares measure approx. 7” × 7”.

  • Using worsted weight cotton blend yarn and a size I hook, each square uses approx. 34 - 38 yards of yarn.

  • Stitch count of squares = 23 stitches per side.

STITCHES USED:
CH, SC, DC. SS = Slip Stitch.
