All the designs in my College Collection are inspired by the universities that mean a lot to me and mine. And it doesn’t seem too long ago that my sister went off to Aberystwyth University. But in reality, it’s been longer than either of us would like to admit! And whilst I was designing Aberystwyth, the first thing that sprung to mind was the beautifully rugged coastline. I wanted to incorporate beach/sea and rock pool elements into this scarf and the wave and eyelet motifs do this nicely.

This is an elegant, simple design that may be a little unusual for a college style scarf, but it retains that cosy, homely feel. And like all of my College Collection, it is knitted in Aran weight yarn so despite the ‘holes’ it will still keep you lovely and warm.

Aberystwyth is an ideal project for knitters of all abilities, and is a easy, fun and relaxing knit. It knits up quickly and makes for a great box set and coffee shop companion.
