This two-color asymmetrical triangular shawl begins with only a few stitches and increases from one point to a broad border that embellishes one edge. The lace bands on the border are worked in the MC yarn.
Although this is a shawl, it is important to obtain gauge in order to avoid running out of yarn and to obtain the sizes shown on the pattern. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain gauge. The gauge given in the pattern is a blocked gauge.
This pattern calls for DK weight yarn. It may be knit in sport or fingering weight yarns. Keep in mind that your shawl may be smaller than the sizes shown if knit in a lighter weight yarn. I recommend making the large size if you choose to use fingering weight.
Yarn Requirements using Bare Naked Wools Stone Soup DK:
Small Shawl -- 1 skein per color.
Large Shawl -- 2 skeins of MC, 1 skein of CC
My size large fingering weight sample (navy and ivory) used less than one skein per color of Madeline Tosh Dandelion yarn.
My size large sport weight sample (greens) took less than one skein per color of Jill Draper Makes Stuff Mohonk yarn.
The shawl shown in Stone Soup DK (neutrals) is size small.
Finished measurements using Bare Naked Wools Stone Soup DK: Approximately 23” deep x 60” wide and 27” deep x 66” wide.
