Abisko Socks
Each sock is worked individually from the top to the bottom. The top is worked in wide ribbing, then stockinette is briefly worked. The gusset is then shaped through slip sts and short rows- Then the sock is continued in the round in stockinette until the toes are shaped and grafted. This way of working is great for checking foot length as you work.
The amount of yarn required is perfect for women’s shoe size 38-39 (7-9 US) or smaller. There is just enough yarn to make one size larger. Or else use one more 50 g skein to work larger sizes, for example a man’s sock size. More yarn may also be needed if you choose to make the upper sock ribbing longer.
