NOTE: you can easily adapt these fliptop mittens to be regular, one piece mittens by NOT binding off on the main hand section as indicated and knitting until you have 4 inches, measuring from the top of the thumb. from there, follow the decreasing directions that are described in the top flap section of the mitten.
