Acadia Mitts are a perfect beginning project for knitters new to the world of mittens (and a great staple for anyone with cold hands)! Knit in the round from the bottom up (choose either the small/medium or medium/ large versions), the thumb gusset stitches are placed on waste yarn or a stitch holder, and then completed at the end. The possible color combinations are endless, although these would also look great in a solid color too. Meant to be a basic pattern that can be easily fancied-up, you could add stripes, duplicate stitches, or stranded colorwork to make them one-of-a-kind!
