Acadia Hat
This hat is knit holding two strands of worsted weight yarn together as one for a quick, easy and fun knit. Cast on 70 stitches for a fairly loose headband; use fewer stitches on the brim for a tighter hat, for example, 66 or 68, then increase back to 70 stitches when beginning the body of the hat so that the decreases will work out correctly. I used Patons Classic Wool yarns for a nice, springy-soft classic wool feel. Please choose your own favorite yarns and colors.
There are five rows of colorwork in this hat to form the zigzag pattern; I suggest weaving in the unused color every other stitch behind the active color, as taught by the Philosopher’s Wool folks-they have a tutorial video clip at philosopherswool.com.
