Acanthus Sweater Junior
Construction:
The sweater is knitted from the top down. Stitches are cast on and worked in twisted rib, in the round. The ribbing is folded to a double layered neckline by knitting the cast on seam together with the running stitches. Then short rows are made, to shape the back and shoulders.
The yoke is worked with raglan increases and the body is created by putting the sleeve stitches to rest and casting on stitches in the armholes. The body is worked in the round and finished with a twisted rib and an Italian cast-off.
Finally, the sleeves are knitted, by putting the resting stitches back on the needles and picking up stitches at the armholes. Decreases are made along the sleeves and they are finished with a twisted rib edge and an Italian cast-off.’

The lace pattern is decribed through a diagram depicting every stitch. The diagram is then repeated throughout the round.
