Accented Socks
The Accented Socks are the perfect introduction to stranded knitting. The stitch pattern forms geometric shapes, so it’s easy to keep your place in the chart. Also, they’re designed so that you never have to deal with a long float; the small pattern repeat keeps the yarns tidily lined up on the wrong side.
These socks are worked from the cuff down with a so-called mock short-row heel. This type of heel is worked with decreases and increases (by picking up stitches).
You can choose to work the stranded pattern either from charts or from written instructions.
