Acorn Beanie
An ‘Acorn’ style beanie for the arborist in your life! This design was requested by a friend. it is really an upside-down acorn, but worked this way for style of wearing.
The man’s size is obtained by working on a larger hook.
Mainly worked in treble stitches (double-crochet US) with a bobble stitch edge. The trims are worked mainly in double crochet (sc US).
You will need a 12ply (Australian) or 7wpi yarn, in 2 colours, and a small quantity of DK/8ply yarn for working the trims, in colours of choice. Smaller hooks are used for the trims.
Approximate meterage required is about 140mt of main colour, and 70 mt of contrast brim colour.
Beanie may be adjusted by decreasing the number of rows, for a child.
