Acorn Fairies
My Acorn Wee Folk asked me to knit them some fairy wings. Of course I said I would be delighted! They helped me pick the colorful yarn and said their wings will be very useful at harvest time!

Construction
The fairies are knit in the round from the bottom to the top. The I-cord arms are slid into position through arm holes. The wooden bead head stays in place with a pipe cleaner. The yarn hair is added with a tapestry needle. The acorn cap, is made by gluing a real acorn to the top of your doll, or knitting an acorn cap. The wings are knit separately in the round. Embroidery is used instead of colorwork. They are sewn on.

Cute little Acorn boy. So small! (Adente)
I needed about 1 hour for each. And the most time I spent on their hair. It’s always fun thinking about color. (Saphiera)
