This is a subtle little pouch, perfect for storing bracelets, keys and other knickknacks or for use at renaissance festivals or LARPs.

Although this pattern only produces one size, it is eminently scalable by using thicker wool and larger hook size, though I really love the tightness and texture that this hook size provides with the Jamieson & Smith 2-ply yarn. It provides a really perky look that not every yarn can replicate.
Also, since it’s just a pouch and precision of size typically is of lesser consideration with these things, I recommend you just go for it with your favorite yarn and see how it turns out.

You will need two skeins, One colour for the body and one colour for the cap. I love Oatmeal Heather for the body and the dark brown chestnut colour for the cap, though I have used this pattern to make very nice non-acorn coloured pouches as well… It is also very easy to add flourishes or details to the body section as in the green example image, So I believe it is quite versatile and can be adapted to many applications.
