The Acorn Sweater is a cute, unisex design that features textured stripes along the yoke and cuffs of the sleeves. This is a great pattern to use mini skeins or other scraps you have in your stash!

CONSTRUCTION:
The sweater is knitted seamlessly in the round from top to bottom. The yoke is knitted first and has textured details with contrasting yarn after each increase round. Once complete, the arms are put on hold and the body is knitted. The sleeves are knitted last.

LANGUAGE & SKILL:
This is an advanced beginner knitting pattern, written in english with US terms. It is recommended that you have basic knowledge of knitting sweaters before starting.

SIZES:
Sizes are listed in the pattern like this: 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) and coincide with traditional sizes 12-18mos (2T-3T, 4T-5T, 6) (7, 8-10, 12-14).
Chest circumference: 19 (21, 23, 25) (26.5, 28, 30)“ / 45.5 (53, 58.5, 63.5) (67, 71, 76) cm.

The pattern is designed with approx. 1-3” (2.5-7.5cm) of positive ease added to the chest circumference above. Measure around the largest part of your child’s chest and choose the closest size.

GAUGE:
20 sts x 28 rounds = 4x4” (10x10cm) square, knitted in the round in stockinette with US 6 (4.0mm) needles. Blocking is recommended.

YARN:
DK weight (3) yarn. The sample is made with Valley Superwash DK from WEBS Yarn in the color Sand. See yarn substitutions in the notes on page 3.
Yards/Meters: approx. 350 (400, 475, 545) (635, 715, 890) yards / 320 (365, 435, 500) (580, 655, 815) meters. These yarn calculations are based on average size charts. If you make any section longer than suggested, you will need more yarn.
