Acorns
When travelling to Rhinebeck, New York, our route led us through long stretches of autumn forest. Maples, birches, oaks and several other kinds of trees formed the most beautiful scenery. No wonder, I picked a stitch pattern that reminded me of acorns for Stacy’s socks, who I had the pleasure to meet at Rhinebeck for the first time.
The socks are knitted cuff down with an all-over lace pattern. They are worked with heel flap and gusset.
They come in two sizes, women’s M to fit leg circumference 18.75 cm (7.5”) and L to fit leg circumference 22.5 cm (8.75”). Leg length to the heel results in 17 cm (6.75)“ when knit as given in the pattern, adjustable.
You can choose to work the lace pattern either from the charts or the written instructions.
Material: 1 skein of fingering weight yarn with a yardage of approximately 400 m (440 yds) per 100 g.
Notions: 2 stitch markers, darning needle.
The Acorns pattern is also available as part of the (No longer virtual) Friends eBook.
