Acting Ensign Wesley Crusher Sweater
This pattern is written for young children, 0-4 years. An adult version is available too!
Is your little one an aspiring Star Fleet Officer? You can make them their first uniform, as Acting Ensign!
This is a seamless sweater knitted top-down in the round and shaped with the raglan technique. It’s inspired by the Acting Ensign uniform from Star Trek: The Next Generation, most often worn by the character Wesley Crusher. The rolled stockinette collar mimics the turtleneck on his uniform while allowing plenty of stretch to pull over a kid’s head easily. Wide sleeves and stretchy bind-offs make that easy, too.
This pattern comes in three sizes by approximate age: 0-12 months (12-24 months, 2-4 years) sized as follows:
- Collar circumference (unstretched): 14”/36cm (16”/41cm, 16”/41cm)
- Chest circumference: 18”/46cm (20”/51cm, 22”/56cm)
- Collar-to-waist length: 10”/25cm (12”/30cm, 13”/33cm)
- Sleeve circumference: 7”/18cm (8”/20cm, 9”/23cm)
- Sleeve length (from underarm): 7”/18cm (9”/23cm, 10”/25cm)
Make sure you check the measurements first, since babies come in different sizes!
