Acute Shawl
This easy to construct asymmetrical shawl is worked flat with increase on only one side. The v-stitch lends a lacy appearance that belies the stitch’s simplicity.
Size:
This shawl can be made to any size by working rows until you reach your desired dimensions. Please note, if you wish to make your shawl longer than 43-46” on the straight edge, you will require additional yardage.
Gauge:
Exact gauge and hook size are not particularly important. Use a yarn and hook combination that gives you a drapey fabric. All crocheters have slightly different tension, my yarn and hook combinations are only a suggested starting point. If your fabric is stiff: go up one or two hook sizes.
My samples were constructed with the following combinations:
Fingering/D(3.25mm)
DK/G+(4.5mm)
Worsted/K(6.5mm)
Yarn:
Notes about choosing yarn: This pattern is suitable for any fiber type. Please be advised that not all fabrics will readily “block”. Wool, alpaca, and cashmeres will stretch and hold their shape when water is applied. Please make your acrylic project close to your finished desired size. Acrylics generally will not experience a significant change in size with wet blocking; you may wish to try steam blocking. Be advised: Incorrectly applying direct heat to acrylics may cause melting or fire.
The samples were worked in the following yarns:

DK:
