I designed this pattern specifically for all of the Noro Silk Garden Sock I have laying around. The colors emanate from the center of the star much the same way light radiates to us from distant stars. This is also a great way to use up handspun or mini-skeins for a one-of-a-kind scarf.

The amount of yarn for each is roughly 30 yards. I got roughly halfway through a skein of Noro Silk Garden Sock (328 yards) and had already made 5 of these.

It should be noted that these can really be made with any yarn, provided the needles are a suitable size in relation to that yarn. The purples/black version shown was made with my own crazy-colored handspun/handdyed on size 4.25mm needles, but is only maybe 1/4 of an inch wider than the one knitted with Noro Silk Garden Sock on size 3 needles.

This pattern is fairly easy, but patterning is worked on every row and the pattern is based on knitting in the round, so if you are comfortable with those two aspects, you shouldn’t have any problem knitting these up.

This will figure into a scarf pattern (to come) and ideally also an afghan pattern.

(The gauge isn’t given in the pattern since I’ve found my gauge to vary a tiny bit because of the variability of the Noro Silk Garden Sock. The stars end up being around 4-7/8” to 5-1/16” across from the tip of one point to the tip of the point opposite it.)
