On the basis of this chart, you can crochet a shawl of any size, from any yarn that you like.

Given the size of the finished product, the yarn should be light enough and not very bulky (Yarn Weight: 5 ply, Fine and more thin). The thinner the yarn, the more delicate and lacy the finished work looks.

Depending on the yarn, choose a hook, according to its gauge. But remember, the fabric of the shawl should be light and flowing, so do not knit the shawl too tight.
