The Adalia Cowl features colorwork lady beetles, modeled after a color morph of the 10-spotted lady beetle, Adalia decempunctata. Many lady beetles are not the stereotypical red with black spots, and while the Adalia genus only includes 2 species, those 2 species make up nearly a dozen different color morphs! I’ve featured one of my favorite color morphs in this pattern, a predominantly black lady beetle with swirls for spots. The pattern includes instructions for making the cowl in both fingering and worsted weight yarns.
