ADAM UP - AMIGURUMI CALCULATOR DESK BUDDY
CROCHET PATTERN
Perfect for School, College or your desk at home, this pattern makes an ideal Teacher gift or study companion. With his cute keypad face and lovely floppy legs , he will sit nicely on your desk and keep you company whilst doing your homework or marking papers! For younger friends, he will help with learning numbers, and offer emotional support and a friendly face to tackle those tricky maths problems!
PATTERN NOTES
This is a simple beginner friendly pattern using only single crochet (US terms/ Dc in UK Terms) and a very small amount of colour work. The pattern is worked in a mix of rows and rounds and has decorative details made using applique crocheted shapes and simple hand embroidery.
It is a great ‘stash-buster’ project because it uses very small quantities of each colour and can be further reduced by working side panels, back, legs and buttons in additional colours if you wish.

SPECIAL STITCHES
This pattern uses the ‘Invisible Decrease’ method as follows: Insert hook through fl of next 2st, yrh and pull through both sts, yrh and pull through 2 loops on hook.
Increases are made by working 2 stitches into 1 stitch hole.
Colour-work is worked in rows of Sc using the tapestry crochet technique where the colour change is in the last yrh of previous colour. Unused threads are enclosed inside the row.
You can find a quick tutorial of this technique on my YouTube channel Hookanory Crochet Club

Finished Measurements Approximately W 14 x H28 (including legs) x D 2.5 cm
made using 100% Acrylic DK.
If you substitute yarn, it may affect sizing or density of fabric, so you may need to adjust your hook size to suit.
TENSION
Tension is not critical for this project, but it may affect the yarn quantities required.
GAUGE - 20r x 20st = 4” However gauge is not important providing you match an appropriate hook size with the yarn you choose, generally 1/2 to 1 size smaller than the recommended hook size creates a good amigurumi fabric depending on you personal tension.
