The Adams Hat is a simple yet stylish beanie featuring a ribbed chevron pattern created with a mix of knits and purls. It begins with a tubular cast-on for a polished edge and transitions into the ribbed chevron design. The hat is finished with a thoughtfully designed decrease pattern that echoes the ribbing for a cohesive look. If you’re looking for a pattern that is both easy to memorize and creates a stretchy, elegant design, the Adams Hat is perfect for you!

NOTE: This pattern is incredibly stretchy! I knit the worsted weight version in size Large, and it fits me (with a 24” head circumference) as well as friends whose head circumferences range from 21” to 23”. You can comfortably add about 4” of ease to the sizes if desired.

The DK weight version, also knit in size Large, fits similarly but with a slightly snugger feel. If you prefer a smaller size for a child / teenager size or a more fitted look, I recommend trying the DK weight version. Ultimately, it’s up to your preference!

Worsted Weight Version: 18 (21)” / 46 (53) cm in circumference.
DK Weight Version: 16 (18)” / 39 (45) cm in circumference.
