Add It Up Cowl
Need a quick knit for your favorite mathematician or teacher? This is it! The Add It Up cowl is worked from the bottom up in the round. The main body is knit from a colorwork chart, but don’t let that intimidate you. The sections with numbers require a little more focus, but they’re broken up by more intuitive sections of single-color stockinette and simple addition signs. I’ve also included instructions for customizing your own chart based on your favorite number, significant dates, etc.
Finished Measurements: 26” circumference, 9” height
Yarn: Any light worsted weight yarn that meets gauge. You may experiment with other weights for a thicker or taller finished piece. I used Treasure Goddess Yarns Worsted in Fathoms Deep (appx. 175 yards) for the main color and Little Valley Yarns Worsted in Golden Mustard (appx. 50 yards) for the accent color.
Circular needles: US size 4/ 3.50 mm with 16” cable.
Notions: Needle for weaving in ends, stitch markers (preferably 3 different ones).
Gauge: 24 stitches by 32 stitches = 4” x 4” square in stockinette
