Addie Cowl
This select pattern is included in the Indie Design Gift-A-Long! Come join us at http://www.ravelry.com/groups/indie-design-gift-a-long for all the inspiration, chat and cheer you’ll need to get your gifts finished this year. My gift to you is a 25% discount on this pattern when you use the coupon code “giftalong2023” from Nov 21, 2023 at 5:00 pm US EST to Nov 27, 2023 at 11:59pm US EST.
Inspired by the book, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab, and it’s Art Deco book cover, the Addie Cowl features ribbed edgings and an all-over twisted stitch cable pattern. This cowl is one that will keep your fingers busy and, unlike Addie, you won’t soon forget the simple joy working on this cowl will bring you. The pattern is written for a single skein of fingering-weight yarn, but it’s easy to customize by knitting more or less rows into the body of the cowl.
Wear this cowl one direction to show the wishbone patterning and embody Addie’s sense of longing and constant hope for things to be different than they are. Or flip it the other direction to reveal the multitude of hearts that represent all those artistic souls that Addie inspired through her life even if they couldn’t remember where the inspiration came from.

The needle size listed is the needle size I regularly use, but I am a very loose knitter so you may need to go up 1-2 needle sizes to get a fabric that you like.
