I had a few requests throughout the years to create a poncho, so the time finally arrived. I wanted something feminine and easy to make that I can include in the DAYDREAM EBOOK.

It all started with a flower I could not get out of my head… I had to sit down and make it. The final design you see below is the third version of what I had in mind. The other two will be the start of future projects. I still have them on my desk, keeping me company, winking at me

The garment is mostly made using a 4 row pattern repeat. It is seamless and has options to leave the cuffs and turtleneck out, so it’s up to you to choose the final look.

Length: 61 cm /24 inches
Bottom Circumference: 296 cm /116.5 inches
Yarn needed: 50g/115m/165yards of Red yarn & 815g/1874m/2049yards of a contrasting colour

The colour combinations are of course infinite. I think it would look fantastic in pastels. It can be made for children as well as larger adults. Guidance is included in the pattern and it is very easy to adjust.

It is a fairly quick make, equivalent to an adult sweater which could take 2-3 days of focused work. So I would call it a weekend project. Depending on the yarn choice, you can achieve a wintery look with merino or a summery quick throw on for chasing your pet on the beach with cotton/linen.

As always, the pattern is level intermediate with pictures for guidance and links to YouTube stitch tutorials.

The DAYDREAM EBOOK contains lots of winter accessories, women as well as girls sweaters & dresses, women vest and cardigan, shawl, bag… More patterns will be added to this eBook so best to grab yours now while the price is low.

Level: Intermediate
